Sprinter Commuter Rail

San Diego County, California

Role: Sub-consultant to DMJM Harris
Size: 15 Stations
Completed: 2007

The Sprinter is a passenger-service rail line that provides connection between Oceanside and Escondido. There are 15 stations within the system, which service Palomar College and California State University, San Marcos along the route. The system was built on an existing railway right-of-way.

SKA worked under direction of the Project Engineer to develop signage for all the stations, which include identification, restrictive, informational and code-required sign types. SKA’s graphic solution meets the specific needs of the open-platform construction, and reinforces branding identity by deploying colored stripes that imitate those found on rail vehicles.
