The John Wayne Airport, located in Orange County, California, is a favorite departure point for many Los Angeles residents. Over the years, it has expanded and is currently undergoing a major renovation. As part of this terminal upgrade, SKA Design was hired to survey, evaluate and make recommendations to improve the existing sign program. As part of the process, SKA developed new signage guidelines, developed new sign types, designed new sign formats, and simplified signage nomenclature and symbology.
