Claremont Graduate University holds title as the oldest remaining all-graduate university in the United States. It is member of a consortium of seven institutions of higher education that adjoin and are within walking distance of one another. As such, the campuses share a common design theme much alike prestigious campuses of the east coast.

SKA was asked to create distinguishing graphics for demarcating the campus periphery. SKA designed a grand monument sign cast in concrete on a natural stone base, and placed porcelain enamel pedestrian gateway icons on columns that flank primary walkways.
