Following a major earthquake that impacted the campus in 1994, the CSU Board of Trustees appropriated $27 million for campus rebuilding. Inside this effort, SKA developed a campus wayfinding & signage master plan to establish efficient egress around the rehabilitated campus. The program also provided for planned expansion based on projected growth in the student body for the coming decades.

SKA’s solution deploys site identification monuments, trailblazer signs, banners, vehicular signs, orientation maps, pedestrian wayfinding signs, and building identification signs. Each piece maintains a related look and color palette to create a sense of place, while simple messages and horizontal lines underscoring key datum provide legible and intuitive wayfinding.
