Contract Documentation
SKA Design prepares preliminary sign programming documents for all sign types and issues final drawings and specifications suitable for pricing/bidding out fabrication and construction to a sign contractor. Final contract documents frequently consist of a sign programming message schedule, sign location plans and design intent drawings for primary site signs, exterior building signs and interior wayfinding signage. client review meetings are conducted to confirm all sign programming information.

Bidding and Construction Observation
SKA Design assists the client by responding to sign contractor inquiries and clarifying documents during pricing and fabrication periods; reviewing sign contractor material submittals, quotes and shop drawings; attending pre-installation and post-installation walks with client and sign contractor; and preparing punch list of corrections or additional signage requirements.

SKA Design is contracted through the project owner, architect, or developer to design and program signage elements such as a donor program, or a complete wayfinding system for a building interior, building exterior, building site and/or campus. Our work may be categorized generally into 4 phases.

Planning and Schematic Design
SKA Design meets with the client, surveys existing site, reviews architectural plans, and analyzes traffic and decision point identification to determine locations of all signage. We prepare a programming sign type menu, a preliminary sign location plan, and confirm design criteria.

Design Development
SKA Design develops all design-related issues, including sign forms, sizes, materials, fabrication methods color and graphic elements, such as typestyle, arrow design and symbology. We prepare signage design intent drawings for sign types and present to client.
